Jesus said, "I will make you fishers of men"
As Allen and I were walking to the park with the volleyball net last Saturday for youth group, a lady came towards us chuckling loudly. “I thought you were carrying a fishing net!” She said… “That’s not a fishing net!”. We shared a laugh with her and then commented to each other as we continued towards the park- she was more right than she knew! Jesus said to Peter and Andrew while they were fishing one day: “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of people.” (Mat. 4:19). They followed Him and became His disciples. Later, Jesus sent them out to teach others the gospel message, and Peter and Andrew in turn sent others. Since then, many people have been fished to follow Jesus and have been ‘caught’ by his message of eternal salvation. Since Christians have been faithful throughout history, the message has spread. Allen and I are a small part of that and if a volleyball net can ‘catch’ some people for Jesus then we are very glad!
