3rd Church Anniversary

Goals of the Anniversary:
Celebrate the church that the Lord has put together and remember what He has done this last year. Some things to praise God for are:
-The youth group finally started gaining a bit of traction
-The Lazo family is growing a lot in their faith
-A family of faithful Christians from Lima, temporarily in our area, joined us and were
of great encouragement to our congregation.
- The games night crowd has grown and a new motivational system for discipline is
working well. Apart from games, the kids are getting to know their Bibles better
through the devotionals Allen leads.
- A Bible study was started in Upper la Punta.
To grow church unity and friendships and to draw new people into fellowship.
- The movie night was a good draw for people from the community who were
curious about our church with the added bonus of having a strong Gospel
message for anyone who was really searching for God.
- The anniversary was a good opportunity to build relationships with people who
have recently begun to attend different programs and encourage them to draw
closer to God.
- Some people have a very hard time making time in their schedules for God and
church or get a lot of push-back from loved ones. The anniversary is a special
draw to people like this and an encouragement for them to keep drawing nearer to
God.
- The anniversary gives people who are growing in their faith an opportunity to try
their hand at service as there are many needs that arise! Working together helps
them to understand the joy and fellowship that is found in giving in a Christian
setting where people give from their hearts, out of love and not out of obligation or
ambition for selfish gain.
To help Pastor Elvis and Rosita grow in their organisational skills for leading complex group events.
- We felt the neutral environment of having many of the events at the beach helped
both Elvis and Rosita as well as the congregation take ownership of the jobs
and feel the joy of success more strongly.
- There were definitely some organisational hiccups, but we feel the Pastor
learned some important lessons that have really grown him and Rosita in their skills
for effective complex event organisation in the future.
